Laverne Seib, DVM
Laverne grew up on a mixed beef/grain operation near Young, Saskatchewan. In 1993, after graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Laverne and her husband Mark moved to Ithaca, New York. In 1996 they moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin where Laverne worked at a large animal veterinary practice. Missing Western Canada, they moved to Lacombe, Alberta in 1998 to work at Crestomere Veterinary Services. In 2009, Laverne started Gull Lake Veterinary Services.
Laverne and Mark have two girls, Charlotte and Teresa. They live on an acreage with numerous pets and a small flock of sheep. They are kept very busy with children’s activities and their small piece of agriculture. In her spare time, she enjoys escaping to nature either through jogging, biking, or hiking.
Professionally Laverne enjoys working with dairy and beef cattle as well as sheep and goats. She has a passion for agriculture and tries to share it with kids through school presentations and by volunteering as a 4-H project leader.
